The AI policy and Labeling

What is the new AI policy?

It is our framework for handling AI in music on the platform. In short, it lets us catch and remove fully AI-generated music, and clearly label human and AI-assisted work, so the people buying it know exactly what they are getting.

You can read the full AI policy here. It is also referenced inside our updated Terms of Service. The complete updated Terms of Service and both updated exhibits are presented in full at the click-to-agree screen when you sign in.

Does this protect my music from being used to train AI?

Yes. This is one of the two core principles of the policy, alongside transparent labeling. Our policy and Terms of Service prohibit anyone from using music or content on Traxsource as training data for AI models or services. Using any portion of it to train or develop an AI system is a direct violation of our Terms of Service. Protecting your work from being fed into AI is built into the policy, not an afterthought.

How does the labeling work?

We have partnered with two industry-leading AI detection companies. Together they power a system that does three things. It flags fully AI-generated music so we can remove it. It identifies AI-assisted tracks so we can label them. And it confirms genuinely human work so we can give it a "Human-Made" tag.

What is the "Human-Made" tag?

It is a mark on fully human creations, and it is the part of this we are proudest of. It lets buyers and DJs see at a glance that a track is the work of real people, and it puts human artistry where it belongs, front and center.

What counts as AI-assisted?

Tracks made with the help of AI tools but driven by a human artist. These are labeled as AI-assisted, not removed. AI-assisted music has its place. The policy is about being honest with buyers, not shutting anything out.

What if I disagree with how one of my tracks is labeled?

There will be a rebuttal process for legitimate content providers, artists, and producers who feel their work has been labeled incorrectly. We are still finalizing the details and will share more as it becomes available. In the meantime, know this. AI detection is an imperfect science, we will admit when we get something wrong, and you can expect a fair process.
